As we age, our feet can develop a range of conditions, including arthritis and neuropathy. Wright Podiatry has the expertise and experience to provide comprehensive foot care for seniors, including preventive care and treatment for foot conditions.
Neuromas are painful nerve growths that can develop in the ball of your foot. Wright Podiatry provides expert treatment for neuromas, including cortisone injections and minimally invasive surgery to relieve your pain.
Plantar warts can be painful and unsightly, but Wright Podiatry can provide effective treatment. We use a range of treatments, including cryotherapy and laser therapy, to get rid of your wart and restore healthy skin.
Toe deformities, such as hammertoes and mallet toes, can cause pain and discomfort. Wright Podiatry provides expert treatment for toe deformities, including custom orthotics and, if necessary, minimally invasive surgery to realign your toes.
An ingrown toenail can happen for a variety of reasons. Toenail sides or corners typically curve down and press against the skin. When a toenail pierces the skin, it continues to grow into the skin and can result in redness, swelling, pain, and, in some cases, infection.
Diabetes increases your chances of having foot problems. Diabetes can cause nerve damage, such as diabetic neuropathy. As a result, you may be less able to detect an injury or pressure on the skin of your foot. A foot injury may not be noticed until severe damage or infection has occurred.
Plantar fasciitis is an inflammation of the thick tissue under the foot. The plantar fascia is the name given to this tissue. It connects the heel bone to the toes and forms the foot arch. Plantar fasciitis is caused by overstretching or overuse of the bottom of the foot. This can be excruciatingly painful and make walking more difficult.
Ulcers, wounds in your skin that can get infected and take a long time to heal, are sometimes found on your feet and toes. People with diabetes who have neuropathy are most likely to get these ulcers. Ulcers can get infected and sometimes require amputation of your foot or toes. Healing the ulcer might include nonsurgical and surgical treatments.
Calluses and corns are areas of thick, hard skin. They are usually caused by rubbing or irritation over a bony prominence. If the hard, thick skin is on your toe, it is called a "corn", and if it is anywhere else on your foot, it is called a callous.
